Nakuru Kenya 2018
A Rotary hosted trip.
Dates January 12 to January 25, 2018
Trip Leader Dr. Nelson Edwards is returning to Kenya to once again provide eye care treatment and eyeglasses to those in need within the Nakuru and Lake Amboseli areas of Kenya.
The trip starts in Detroit and travels through Frankfurt, Germany to Nairobi, Kenya
First week we will stay at the Midlands
Hotel in Nakuru Town central Kenya.
Our team will be working at a rural health clinic in Bahati, a
small village about ten miles east from Nakuru.
We will have time for exploring Nakuru National Park located
nearby, where we may observe Flamingo, Rhinos, Lion, and
The second week the team will travel south to the Lake Amboseli Game Park where we will stay at Kibo Safari Camp, a luxury resort just outside of the park.
We will conduct a clinic at the resort for the employees and local Maasi residents of the Amboseli area.
We will be able to enjoy safaris in the National Park and possible an elephant encounter. Mt Kilimanjaro can be seen in the distance from Amboseli National Park.
$4250 plus $700 round trip airfare from Detroit.
The in country costs include lodging, scheduled meals, transportation with professional driver/guides, National Park entry fees, and work permit/fees.
Not included are drinks, souvenirs, passport, shots/immunization optional activities such as hot air balloon rides and special game drives.
